The old Cadillac dealership is gone and the Addison building on Bay Street is undergoing a minor face lift. Well not necessary minor, quite a substantial change to be more honest. Formerly a historical building, the old building is being incorporated into a 3 storey glass podium with a 48 storey steel and glass tower above it. The building will have approximately 460 suites.
The Burano Condos being developed by Lanterra Developments is more than three-quarters erect. Standing opposite its sister project the Murano Condos, this will be a smaller, more boutique project. Paying tribute to its Venetian namesake, the building will have European design and finishes. After a European trip, Lanterra decided to persue a project of the old world charm. Everything from the building’s design to its aura and decor will have overseas influence. The Burano will be a pretty tower, resembling some buildings I have seen in Berlin, Germany.
The project will contain a 3 storey podium which will house shops, a bar and 24 hour security lobby. With art by Italian artist Sandro Martini hanging off walls, a sense of elegance will envelop the entrance. On top of the podium and away from the city traffic will be a rooftop terrace with an outdoor pool, sure to be a popular attraction. Minutes from Yorkville and downtown, this will be a prime living location.
Burano Condos was designed by Peter Clewe for Lanterra. Working with a great interior design helps bring that European touch for cabinetry and mosaics. Alessandro Munge Interior Design was tasked with creating the perfect decor. Add in 25 year landscaping design professional Janet Rosenberg Landscape Architects and you can see why Burano will stand out.
The Burano sales center is located at 832 Bay Street in Toronto. Calls to Lanterra with inquiries on suite availability and pricing were unreturned. For more information email email@example.com or go to Burano Condos.
