When you look at the Toronto skyline, many pump cranes can be seen. In the downtown part we have Market Wharf and Concord City Place. In the Bay area we have Aura Condos, a new soon to be started project, Sick Kids hospital Research Center and Murano Condos by Lantera. In Yorkville, even more is going on. Lifetime developments has The Yorkville, One Bedford is almost done, and a few other projects in progress. None of them as luxurious and as highly anticipated as the Four Seasons Private Residences Toronto.
The application for this project was filed with the city of Toronto back in 2003 for a 55 and 30 storey building, along the way that was changed. The development is now for a 55 storey building with 6 storey podium and a 26 storey adjacent building connected by an elevated pedestrian bridge. They will be called West Residence and East Residence respectively. Once approved the sales center was erected and construction has been going on for almost 2 years now. The building or buildings are taking shape and Toronto’s most expensive condo will soon be under construction. The tower really accentuate the skyline with a very sleek and modern design.
Four Season Hotel and Resorts actually got its start in Toronto in 1960. Since then the company has acquired 74 properties in 31 countries and 25 new projects under way. The Toronto location was designed by Architects Alliance and is being developed by Bay- Yorkville Developments Ltd. Menkes is the managing partner of the project and Gluckstein Design Planning is responsible for interior decor. Landscape on top of the elevated bridge will be done by Claude Cormier.
This will again be one of Toronto’s Hotel/ Condo projects. Like Shangri-La, One King West, Trump Tower and the now defunct 1 Bloor East plans by Kazak firm Bazik. The floors will be split as follows in the West Residence: 1-20 will be hotel floors with 253 suites, 21-55 will house 101 private residences. The East Residence will have 103 estates on 26 floors. The 55th floor will reach up to 200 meters. The suite owners will have 24 hour access to the hotel amenities including the 28,000 square foot Spa.
The gem of this place is the 9,038 square foot penthouse up for sale at a low $30 million. It is yet to be sold I believe. Included with the penthouse is a staff suite measuring 680 square feet in the adjacent tower. With 12 foot ceilings and some amazing views I could not save pictures of, the penthouse is spectacular with 4 walk out terraces. In my opinion it is a little pricey considering Aura Condos penthouse is 20 floors higher and 2,000 square feet bigger yet $17.5 million.
Suites in the building will be true example of elegance. With 2 bedroom units having 3-4 square feet, they are spacious and grand. Ceilings will be 10-12 feet tall, creating an open atmosphere. Owners have the option of marble, granite, or limestone in either the kitchen island or the bathroom and vanity. The same options are also available for the backsplash. Each suite will have Sub-Zero and Miele appliances. Nothing less would be expected from a fine brand like Four Seasons. Suite Feature Sheet
